Michael Ball Extends Run in London Hairspray; New Cast Members to Join in October
04 Sep 2008 -- Michael Ball, who won the 2008 Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Edna Turnblad in the original West End company of the Broadway hit Hairspray, has extended his contract by a further six months, and will now stay in the role through Apr. 25, 2009, the longest continuous contract that Ball has ever performed.

04 Sep 2008 -- Keith Allen, who plays The Sheriff of Nottingham in the new BBC TV series "Robin Hood" and has appeared in such films as "24-Hour Party People," Twin Town" and "Trainspotting," will make his West End stage debut as Long John Silver in Ken Ludwig's new stage adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island.
