By Andrew Gans
Linzi Hateley, the West End star who made her Broadway bow in the original production of the short-lived musical Carrie, will make her New York cabaret debut at 54 Below in May.
Hateley's evening, which is entitled True Colors: Life Since Carrie, will be presented May 27. Show time is 7 PM; doors will open at 5 PM.
"Acclaimed in London, this concert," according to 54 Below, "is an intimate look at [Hateley's] fascinating career in the theatre. The Theatre World Award winner and Olivier Award nominee will share songs and stories from the many musicals she’s starred in in the West End, including Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, Chicago, The Secret Garden, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Les Misérables, as well as her starring role in the most infamous Broadway flop of all time."
The singing actress is returning to New York for the first time since 1996 when she appeared at Carnegie Hall with her Carrie co-star, Tony winner Betty Buckley.
There is a $25-$35 cover charge and a $25 food and beverage minimum. 54 Below is located at 254 W. 54th Street. Tickets and additional information are available at 54Below.com.
