Richard T. Dolce directs the acclaimed drama about a shamed Republican family whose Christmas is derailed when their daughter returns home with a tell-all book. Performances continue through March 9. It officially opens Jan. 25.
Clark (Come Back Little Sheba, Fifth of July) plays Lyman Wyeth, with Franz (Into the Woods, A Little Night Music) as Polly Wyeth and Lemenager (Chicago, Movin' Out) as Brooke Wyeth. The cast also features Christopher Bolan (Mamma Mia!) as Trip Wyeth and Joan Porter (The Inspector General, Every Day a Visitor) as Silda Grauman.
The creative team includes Jonathan Collins (scenic design), Tricia Barasamian (costume design), Driscoll Otto (lighting design), Laura Frey (sound design), Mark Adam Rampymeyer (hair and make-up design) and Bryan Prywes (props design).
Other Desert Cities is billed as "the story of a once promising novelist – Brooke Wyeth – who returns home after a six year absence to celebrate Christmas in Palm Springs with her parents, former leading Republicans, and her eccentric liberal aunt. When the novelist announces she is about to publish a memoir focusing on an explosive chapter in the family's history, the holiday reunion is thrown into turmoil as the family struggles to come to terms with their past. In the Wyeth family, secrets are everything. You'll be on the edge of your seat as their family mystery unfolds."
