American Anthem - Live, a Celebration of American Song is the title of Upright Cabaret's July 4 concert, which will be presented at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club in California.
The star-studded poolside concert stars Jennifer Leigh Warren (Big River, Little Shop of Horrors, Marie Christine) and also features Tom Lowe (West End productions of Cats, Les Miserables), Marty Thomas (Broadway's Wicked, Secret Garden, Xanadu), Elizabeth Brackenbury (Reprise's Sunday in the Park with George), Steve Mazurak (Les Miserables at the Hollywood Bowl) and Jake Simpson ("Star Search" Grand Champion). Show time is 8 PM.
Upright artistic director Billy Porter directs the evening with musical direction by Chris Bratten.
The concert, according to press notes, "will weave a tapestry of American song with great stories and classics that you know and love."
Upright Cabaret at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club is located at
701 E. Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs; doors open at 5 PM.
