Synopsis:
This play with music celebrates the spirit of the outrageous, outspoken 'Empress of the Blues,' Bessie Smith. At the height of her popularity in the 1920s, Smith sold more records than Al Jolson or Caruso. The show includes such favorites as "There'll Be a Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight," "St. Louis Blues," "I Ain't Got Nobody," "Gimme a Pigfoot." Contains adult language.
