Interlochen Arts Camp, 1977, West Side Story (Maria). I had to stuff my costume with toilet paper. It all came out one night during "I Feel Pretty." Then I felt dorky.

How you got your Equity card:
|
Playing the fictitious sassy neighbor of the Wright Brothers in a TYA show about the Wright Brothers. Our Northeast tour was cancelled, so we then were scheduled to perform for one hour at the 92nd St. Y, then that was cut back to 1/2 hour, so I got my card, for rehearsing for two weeks or so, and performing for half an hour. And never had to leave the city. The easiest, lowest stress story ever. I was very, very lucky.

Worst flubbed line:
|
There have been many. I guess one of the worst was when sweet Katie Clarke went into Piazza, and something we did near the beginning of the show just threw me for a loop. We were in the Ufizzi scene, and I could not remember my next line, so I just skipped to my exit line, and said to her, "Darling, things are often hard," and left her standing alone by herself in the middle of the Vivian Beaumont stage. Luckily, she had a song coming up, and she was smart enough to look down at Kim Grigsby, and they just started the song. It was in her first week of performances. She was poised and collected and quite brilliant. I told her, she was never going to have something that horrible ever happen to her again!! What a way to be baptized into the theater. Oy!!!

Who have you played on "Law & Order"? Which edition?
|
I have played a fetal alcohol syndrome counselor on SVU, and a crime scene investigator on the original "Law & Order." Got to work with our beloved Jerry Orbach. He kept tap dancing in between takes and saying, "You know I used to do musicals when I was younger." I was like, "Uh — Yeah, Jerry, I know who you are, my friend!!"

Worst costume ever:
|
I had to wear this gigantic wooden moon costume in Harold and the Purple Crayon. I played opposite Jeff Blumenkrantz as Harold. I remember the choreography was a little tricky with the rig on.

Favorite cereal:
|
I don't eat cereal. But if I did, I would stick my head into a trough of homemade organic granola.

Who would play you in the movie?
|
I hope no one has to play me, because that is an ultra-scary thought, but maybe Celia Keenan-Bolger? She is my soul sister in many ways.

TV or commercial gig you most enjoyed:
|
Singing high notes into a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and watching it explode in special effects.
